Bursting social calender, meeting up old friends and family gathering - and I'm feeling the groove back to my own bubbly self again. Ulalla.... (Yes, it's time to admit that I have been a little antisocial post delivery).

Flew again to KL last Wednesday.
I have lost count on how many times Baby Maya flew. Haha. Lucky baby! My virgin first time flying experience was when I turned 16, honestly! But it is not like she would remember all these times...
This trip was for Basic Ophthalmic Microsurgery Course in Hospital Selayang. We stayed at a budget hotel - Sky Hotel Selayang which is super near (directly opposite the hospital, seriously just cross a pedestrian flyover) and super cheap (online promotion, only RM75 per night) and super convenient as I needed to "send" my milk to baby Maya. Of course, I also prefer the comfort of EBM-ing at own hotel room instead of cramping and hiding in the toilet (running the risk of being walked in again!), this hotel was the perfect place!
It was not too shabby either! Way past my expectation! I initially felt like it is a hookers' hideout place, nestled in a shopping mall. Hehe paiseh..... How really you shouldn't judge on merely outward appearance! Clean and tidy.. Proper... Not dodgy at all... King size bed with Aussino linen and towel with toiletries. Hot shower, kettle, hair dryer (although I brought my own - I never leave the house without my dryer. You have higher chance of catching me naked on the streets than having haggard limp lifeless hair. Indeed!) and plasma TV. Sufficient for a comfortable stay. So for those who have meetings or seminars or courses in Hospital Selayang, or need a close place for the night while visiting a sick relative - I would suggest this Sky Hotel Selayang!

| The housekeeper fondly put Baby Maya's BumbleBee there. How heartwarming when I walked in the room and saw this small yet sweet gesture! |
And so I went for my two-day course. Very worthwhile! The lectures on microsurgery sutures and basic principles focusing on basic ophthalmic procedures were very helpful to me! Alot of hands-on practise and the best part was the supervision. I realised then the importance of my wrist control to aid better in my microsurgical suturing. I'm so thankful that the supervisor picked up on my mistakes! You know, many times you are so used to doing the same thing over and over and you don't realised that you are doing it wrong because no one told you so or you are so used to doing that way you think it's the correct way after time. Get me? Anyhow, thank you thank you! Now at least I know where I have to improve further.

And once we started updating each other on our lives, off we go!!! It was like we were back once more in Standard 6 Dahlia! Like nothing had changed much.. The way she talks and walks, everything, still the same la... We talked and laughed till tears brimmed our eyes, at many of our inevitably embarrasing moments. Just a short 45 minutes catch-up during lunch break over a nice cup of ice lemon tea, we were immediately brought back to our fond childhood memories.. Namely our hilariously embarassing class drama play (Rapunzel was it?) and when we had our sleepover and showered together with another one of my old bestie. Clothes on! Haha! Yes, it was a threesome and it was awesome! Don't interpret it wrongly you sickos... *winks* Reminiscing the good old days, those were the days spent worry-free and burden-free~~~
*sigh contentedly....
Truth been told, I have lost most contacts with my primary AND secondary schoolmates. Lol! Even after promising (with crossed and double-crossed hearts) to stay in touch, keep in touch. Well... Life happened and like a runaway train, majority of us can only handle this much. Many of us busied ourselves with our daily errands and kept tied down with commitments. And while it is easy to be engrossed in our own lives, it's actually also very easy to just take that EXTRA SMALL step to come out of our nut shell and just have a drink, to update and to chat. Just pick up the phone and call or message or whatsapp or FB! A simple "your baby so cute" will do and it did!
Go on! Do it!
Go on! Do it!

At the punch of five, at the end of my course every day, Dear Hubby and I went and visit (and revisit) Ikea! (He went for three straight nights, I went two nights - yea crazy-married-people-with-baby-cannot go clubbing-kind-of-activities-nothing-else-better-to-do). For some pretty modern trendy contemporary cheap affordable furnitures...
I used to love hanging out in Ikea back in Cold Moscow for the Swedish food and I simply enjoyed strolling and checking out the showroom cases they beautifully set up. Then I would always happily played the interior designer in my mind... You know, like, next time when I got a house of my own, I wanna buy this thing and have that style and put in this colour and hang in this poster and complete it with that one. Well, we have one charming little luxury apartment of our own now and the style was elegant modern black and white metallic and smart kind of feel AND totally child-danger home with sharp corner coffee table, vases of (fake) flowers scattered around the house, pointy-looking decorative sticks (haha, yes! I have those). Everything was quite erm, delicate. So, we figured it was definitely the time to childproof our Kuching nest for our love - Baby Maya.
