The rustle of dedications and the whisper of determinations eminent from the grim faces of Olympians... simply reflect their strong states of minds, each and everyone of them possess. Winning is made out of sweats, blood and tears, not only in the gym, the tracks or the pool, but really, it applies everywhere else even in our humble lives - to win and be successful, we simply have to have the 'want' and desire to achieve our goals.
Most of the time, we may only 'feel' the hours of gruesome practices they had to endure (by judging from those well-toned muscles, those body silhouette we secretly wish we have), but what many of us don't 'see' are the sacrifices and the silent supports from their partners and family. Staying in world-class tip-top shape means focusing on staying in world-class tip-top shape. When in focus, the mind sharpens to only one thing and everything else have to pale in comparison, otherwise it is called multitasking, not in focus. So, without the family's help, how else can they stay in control, in focus? There is no way they can stay on the high-performance state, if after each practise then kena marah for coming back late to help bath a fussy baby, kena marah because didn't wash milk bottles, kena marah because forget to pay the bills?
Thus, tributes to the supporting roles of the wives/husbands/parents are not to be forgotten....
