For the Love of Food.

"Humor keeps us alive. Humor and food. Don't forget food. You can go a week without laughing"

So, okay.... this is for all the food lovers out there...

Surrounded by friends and family who love you. Surrounded by good aroma and good vibe. Surrounded by all the goodness in the world. I am happiest for when I am most aware of what I possessed. Whether it is in the company of lovers and family, whether it is nestled at home, whether it is relished alone... Good food is definitely equals pure pleasure!!!

These are random pictures that I've taken of my humble *ahem* home cooked heart-warming meals and some of the nom noms we had outside, mostly are which I don't know how to make/cook....  and are those that I fail terribly at attempting to make...

Gorgeous lay out of Japanese dinner set.
Top (left to right): miso soup, chawanmushi, Japanese curry, sweet white rice
Bottom (left to right): grilled salmon, baked oyster shells, fried chicken cutlets, greens
 AHHHhhhhh...... *burps*
Can eat for two weyyyy... or in our case, 3 of us!!! Hahaha...

So typical.... BUT IT'S A MUST LAAAAA.....!!!
My favourite favourite.... Dragon prawn roll and whatever-you-slap-unagi-on are my favourites...
Sushi King has better bigger slices of unagi... But personally.... I feel Sakae Sushi has juicier ones! And the combination of avocado and whatever-whatever they put in, works so miraculously well! Sooo tasty.... *high*

What is Japanese food without salmon eh?
Fresh fresh slices of heavenly salmon sushi.... A plate of sashimi salmon with a dash of lemon....

*Oh yea.. I better disclose here that this is NOT an advertorial for Sakae Sushi okay!!
There are only few good restaurant in CatsCity that provide good sushi.... okay...
We eat then we shop... how convenient right! :D

Some western-styled nom nom... I usually will go for the fishes menu...
Omega and all the goodness..... Less fattening than the lamb shank and beef tenderloin that Dear Hubby always go for *tsk tsk tsk* Hahaha!
Grilled salmon nicely resting on homemade mashed potatoes...
Creamy pumpkin soup and a side of garlic bread...

(Left pix): A dish from our neighbour... Unleashing the kurma chicken curry ala Indonesia....
Simple.... yet appetising...
A gulp of ice lemon tea to finish off....
(Right pix): Grilled chicken from Howdy's...

The original Kenny Rodger grilled succulent well-marinaded chicken....
Of course, their super super rich muffins... Vanilla is the BEST, followed by banana... Then pandan flavour... Still... vanilla is always my choice... Ever!
So delightful!!!

For the Korean food (and anything Korean) lovers... Burning spicy Kimchi soup with stir fry sweet & sour fish roe ala Korean, you might need to get ready a cup of cold iced water! Or in my case, a tall glass of fruit flavoured water, imported from Korea *geng geng geng* Those cold side dishes... are quite cold, hahahah, in my humble opinion....  Boh ngam me...
Korean food is strongly restricted to people who like 'strong' taste and have 'strong' taste buds...

The perfect Malaysian breakfast to fuel start the day...
Teh peng (ice tea) with telur separuh masak two biji (two soft-boiled eggs)...
A sprinkle of dark soy sauce and pepper....
Puuuurrrrfect... (*get it? CatsCity.... purrs*)

The most typical breakfast of a Kuchingnite... Oh... And how do I love it so so so freaking much!! Yup, you guessed it right! The number ONE Sarawak laksa and Teh C Special at Chong Choon Cafe.... The mere aroma of the prawn-based soup and that tangy delicate noodle... With a dab of its spicy hot sambal mixed with sour lime.... Oh my~~~

Happy McBreakkie!!!
I love the sausage McMuffin with egg, absolutely MUST order when I come for breakfast..
And their coffee... *very the oomph* Enough to hype you up until late afternoon...
I never use to enjoy the pancakes... until I mix the butter WITH the honey then OMG OMG OMG!!!! Bestttt laaa....
I don't normally order the porridge... That was for Maya Girl... Hehehe...
(nothing to rave about that *opppps*)
She also didn't fancy that porridge.. So she hentam those hash browns... :)))

And how I love love these two people.... *hearts*
So freaking much!!! Hahahhaa~~~

With LeSista.... And LeSailor...
 The love of family...
Okay.. it's random.... *teeheeheee*

Past few days Maya Girl had been quite down under the weather... Which also meant that I was worried sick about her too... Luckily she was still active and ate as usual... Otherwise I would have a bigger headache than it was!

Some tender loving care from mummy dearest... She's fine now, thank you... :)))
Lots of water...
So we ordered this sweet potato porridge with cute little side dishes... perfect for her...
Yummy yummy!!! At Coffee Talk Tabuan...
That vegetable popiah for me... *hehehhehe*

Also, some home cooked meals, by yours truly...

This is considered quite a spread in our household. Haha. Herbal chicken soup slowly boiled for more than 2hours, green stir fry vegetables AND home made rambutan + pineapple drinks.

Sweet and sour chicken chop and stir fry french beans...

Curry chicken with a tinge of assam, kangkong garlic and porridge for Maya Girl. A small strawberry cupcake for my sweet tooth later. :PP

Maya somersaulting on the table at the new Beyond Veggie, by Secret Recipe. She was obviously throwing tantrum and Dear Hubby was trying to pacify her hahahaha...

Just went over for brunch and light snacks:

Mushroom bruschetta

And I can't recall the name of this dish. Hahaha... But... I can assure you that IT WAS GOOOOD!!!

A tad pricey... but oh-so-delicious!

Must have ice cream at Sakae Sushi....
Cold and totally digging it!!!

Look at Maya's proud full face! Hahaha.... Totally priceless...
*loves*

Mid year 2014...

GEEEZZZZ...... I have left my blog idle for the longest of time..... *apologetic grin*
*hehehehe*

I have been quite busy lately... With all the travelling and paperworks and pre-maturely stressing myself with unnecessary worries of next year's exam...
Honest be told, much more engaged in the latter than the rest...
I know right.. *roll eyes too*

So.... let me explain the reasonSSS for my absence...

I'm just going to post random pictures that I have taken over the past couple of months. Might not even be in chronological order *LOL*

A picture says a thousand words right?
Prolly saved me tens of thousands of words..
You know, with me being so freaking wordy and all.... :)))

Anyways.. Before anything else... I shall announce this: We celebrated our 10th anniversary together... *loveheartsflowerribbonchampagne*

Yes indeed! The couple t-shirts that he made to erm.... commemorate the day....
Yes... I'm having polka dot fever after Maya's first birthday extravagant.
Obviously we are just going to wear them in the house, as PJs...
*too old to enjoy terbeliak staring eyes of public*
*laughing like a fool*

Lunch date at my new found favourite spot for sandwich and pastry and everything fat - Backerei at BDC. They have branches over at Tun Jugah mall and also inside Everise supermarket, opposite Boulevard.
Super super love their sandwiches!!! They are never stingy with their crunchy fresh vege in the sandwich. The most most absolute sinful chocolate rolls are my most most absolute addict now! They are very generous with the chocolate.. so rich... sooooo satisfying.. *licking tongue*

The loves of my life.... Happy faces happy smiles made our day that day!
So cute my baby! Pandai posing for pictures dy!!!

For dinner, we headed over to Sharing Planet for their western food --> not nice lehhhh....
We heard how popular it is so we decided to check it out for ourselves... Quite disappointing...
Just your normal standard fried chicken chop bathed in your typical sauce + fries stuff... Nothing special..
You can gauge from Maya's expression... *hahahha* She is the toughest food critic!
But alas, she will eat all the fries you give her... *epic fail*
She loves fries.... Super love.. Hahahha....
Maybe.. many go there because the service is fast? And relatively cheaper?
Still, I don't too fancy the place. It's outdoor garden-themed. So you can imagine the mosquito attack you have to endure throughout dinner. Unless you wear long pants in our tropical climate. And then risk having heat stroke. Or look like the crazy woman with her mascara running down her sweaty face.

Never forgetting to take a picture of the 'old' couple!

Right before I flew to KL for my orientation, we celebrated Dear Hubby's 31st birthday too! Just a moderately simple one. Only the three of us, and a mango cheese yummilicious cake!

Flying off alone for orientation.... Always a time for selfie *teeheeheheh*
Reading onboard.... Busying myself so that I don't feel so homesick so much!
True story.

Meet new friends and lots of old friends... Everybody is at the start of yet another new beginning of their career path too. I have a feeling that I am not the only one feeling lost and scared? And I really hope all of us can finish till the end of this academic programme together and here, I wish all of us, GOOD LUCK!!

AND OF COURSE.... There are friends who you will meet and gather and gossip and criticise each other, no matter how busy your schedule is...

My favourite snaps of the night!
People who you can be yourself with. People who act the same frequency as you. People who never let you to make a fool of yourself, alone.

Pardon the quality of the photo!!!
It is NOT the skill of the photographer okay! *cross arms*
It was pretty amazing that I managed to get all of us in the picture with my small iPhone AND not shake so much.. The lighting in the restaurant wasn't that good also okay....
Hahahhaa ~~~

Cheers to many more years to come~~~

Hot J is going to kill me for posting this up!
"Baby, I want to carry you. But you are very dirty. So I can't carry you now. Nah, give you back."
Hahahhaa!!!
Wrapped in black sultry tight dress, accessorised with a black demurring Louis Vuitton and a pair of killer heels. That never-pregnant body. That bag. That alluring face. Oh I hate her.
HMMPHHH!!! *hehehheeh*

Who needs drug when you have friends like this? Who keep you up, spiritually, and listen to your complaining then add insults to the person you dislike, to boost your morale?

I look like I have thorn on my chair. Constipated look.
But I love this picture of us~~~
Good food + Good company = Good night.

Little tasmania devil in disguise of a cute little girl...
Lucky us the pilot did not throw us out of his plane!!!
Hahahhaha.... of course I was exaggerating!!!
But really, as she grow bigger, it gets harder to travel with her.
You need an assistant. Definitely. Someone to hold her steady while you apologetically try to remove rice from the passenger's hair sitting in front of us. *sweat* True story.
*whispering* I'm so sorry again Mr Passenger. Truly am.

Maya girl and I flew the same plane as this veteran actress, Datuk Lai Meng!!!
Quickly I asked to snap a photo with her! *yes yes*
I grew up watching her act. She has been inside my TV box for as long as I have lived! Serious shit.
"Ah Hui ah... gua eh Mickey Mouse geh lai sa lehhh?" Hahahhahaa LMAO!!!

A sunset view from my hometown in Muar.
Home sweet home.
Nothing is better in this world than your childhood place.
And being pampered by your mum, of course!

And Maya Girl being pampered by her grandparents too. Evening walks, nutritious porridge everyday, Legos and what not!
This was her, playing in my house in Muar.

The great thing about sending your kid to your parents: They will take care of everything! Everything. Obviously I kena sound by them many times for many things (that I should do for her but do not have the luxury of time to do so). Plus, my parents are OCD in their own sense, hence my OCD trait. They patiently teach her how to stand and walk and talk and sing to her so much... that she can actually walk by the time she came back to CatsCity. Seriously!!! I love you Daddy Mummy for this great effort and help!!! **lovessss** And she won't stop talking in her baby language ever since. So talkative.. *beh tahan*

Showing you the panoramic view of my budget hotel room in Midvalley. It's budget, no doubt, but not bad kan!!! So comfy okay!!! It's big considering I'm only paying RM125 a night (without breakfast). I stayed here for 2 weeks and I have no complains for the amount of money I'm paying. It's called My Hotel Premier @ Midvalley, just next to Little India. The hotel restaurant is manned by northern Indians and boy.... was I in love with their cuisine!!!! The very first night I ordered room service vegetable bryani... Oh boy! Delectable!!! Omph oomph oomph!!! I can never stop telling people about it!! Soooo FREAKING gooood...
Yes, I have a thing for Indian food. Other than Japanese, Indian cuisine is my all time favourite, be it northern or southern. Dear Hubby can cook REALLY good chicken curry.
And the location is quiet. And very convenient for me to get a taxi to UM every morning.

Nice peaceful quiet cozy spot in the room for some quality studying time!!!

LeHomemake packed me some coffee and her homemade kueh. Feel all gooey and homey and lovey inside, having this for breakfast every morning before I head to UM.

Simply luscious. Simply creamy.
Where can I find this thin-layered fancy crepe cake in Kuching?!!??
Tell me! Somebody tell me!!! *nom nom nom*
I had this in Food Foundry PJ.

So yea... I was doing all that and more, all these time...

Psstt....
Finally I bowed down and asked for some domestic Indonesian helpers to help clean my house.
And they are doing a better job than me weyy!!! Which is hard to accomplish but ya wey... Shoot..
I should have sought help earlier laaa..
No need break my back cleaning and stress over spilled milk :)))

When you know you have help coming every one or two weeks, you tend to not sweat over small things. And with good help, you have more time to concentrate on things that ONLY you can do... Like studying and mothering. Other things, leave it to the helpers. :)))

Have a grand weekend everyone!
I know I will~~
